Umatilla Chamber of Commerce

Without volunteers, the Umatilla Chamber would not exist. Our board members are all volunteers and we have several events throughout the year which need volunteer help as well. Where do we need help? One thing you can do is volunteer at the Welcome Center. During the summer months, the center is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. In July of 2011 alone, we had over 2,440 visitors come through our doors -- that's an average of almost 79 visitors a day.

People come to the center looking for maps and information about Oregon. While we have a number of brochures centering on activities and events in Oregon, there is a lot of information that we don't have. That's where you can come into the picture. Even if you don't know much about Oregon, you can learn. We are asking people to volunteer two hours a month, either during the week or on the weekend. Weekends are our busiest days but sometimes, the weekdays are busy, too.

March 30, 2013 -- Easter Egg Hunt. The chamber will be sponsoring its third annual Easter Egg Hunt at the West Park at McNary Dam. We need folks to help set up the park for the hunt, hide eggs and supervise children as they hunt for eggs. Call the chamber at 541-922-4825 or e-mail karen@umatillachamber.net.

June 22 -- Umatilla Landing Days. This annual event celebrates Umatilla's 151 years as the oldest community in Eastern Oregon and the first county seat  for Umatilla County. There are many volunteer opportunities at Landing Days and we need your help!
